Most mothers can be won over with a beautiful bouquet, which is why the floristry workshop at Percy & Founders is sure to be a hit. Held in their smart Fitzrovia brasserie in collaboration with local florist Orchidya, the two-hour session will teach you how to make an elegant Teacup Floral Centrepiece using a selection of he finest seasonal flowers. Afterwards it’s time to settle down to a brunch of Devon crab Benedict or a Sunday roast with all the trimmings – washed down with a glass of fizz, naturally.

Mother’s Day Celebration at The Bluebird
Chelsea institution The Bluebird is transforming the famous King’s Road into the Queen’s Road for one week only, in honour of Mother’s Day. Bring your mum along to try their week-long cocktail menu, featuring five Queen-themed tipples, or book in for the three-course ‘Queen’s Day’ lunch on Sunday, which features their signature spatchcock chicken and comes with a special gift. New mums and mums-to-be are catered for too, with a 45-minute baby and toddler-friendly dance class held in the private Campbell Room on Saturday 21 March.

Petersham Nurseries Mother’s Day Workshops
If there’s one place that’s bound to charm any mother, it’s Petersham Nurseries. Mother’s Day Terrarium Workshop at Harvey Nichols
There’s nothing quite like taking some time to unplug and reconnect with nature to soothe frazzled nerves – and even better if you can do it with a glass of gin in hand. And while your mum may have green fingers, we’re betting she hasn’t made a terrarium before. Bring her along to this interactive session in partnership with LSA International and The Forest Distillery, where you’ll get to create your own decorative terrarium alongside sampling a variety of Forest Gins. You’ll even incorporate some of the foraged berries and botanicals used in the gin into your miniature green masterpieces.

Berners Tavern Afternoon Tea with Caran d’Ache
Afternoon tea may not be the most original idea for a Mother’s Day celebration, but this one comes with a twist. Berners Tavern has teamed up with legendary Swiss stationers Caran d’Ache to offer diners the chance to have their portrait drawn by painter and fashion illustrator Poppy Waddilove, who has worked with brands including Net-a-Porter and Jasper Conran. Book in for afternoon tea on Mothering Sunday and your tower of toasted crumpets and apple and cinnamon crumble tarts will come with a ten-minute family portrait session.
