Alessandra Steinherr picks her five favourite new beauty products of the week

The Glossary’s Contributing Beauty Director reveals her must-haves, from Victoria Beckham’s latest skincare launch to the ultimate immunity-boosting supplement

As part of my weekly column I will be choosing five different beauty products to share with you every week, ranging from my favourite new skincare saviours, ultimate make-up must-haves, hair care heroes and body boosters, through to the freshest scents of the season. I get to test every single new beauty product before it hits the stores, so I truly appreciate the life-changing power of a great one. Here are the new releases that I’m most excited about this week.

Number 1 of best new beauty products
Victoria Beckham Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser in Golden, as part of Alex Steinherr's new beauty products of the week

Victoria Beckham Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser in Golden, £92

Anything that promises to make me look sun-kissed has my fullest attention. I couldn’t wait to try the new golden shade of the original priming moisturiser on my face and I’ve been wearing it daily ever since. It’s the perfect summer primer/moisturiser/glow enhancer, with a sheer texture that adds exactly the right amount of warmth to lacklustre skin. It delivers serious skin benefits, too, thanks to the proprietary Augustinus Bader TCFC8 skin rejuvenating technology at the heart of all VB complexion products.

Number 2 of best new beauty products
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Light, as part of Alex Steinherr's new beauty products of the week

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Light, £75

Charlotte Tilbury’s iconic Magic Cream has long been one of my beauty staples, as the rich, priming moisturiser works wonders on dry skin like mine. Those with oilier complexions, or who are looking for something less heavy in the heat of summer, will love her new Magic Cream Light, a more lightweight, fluid-like version of the original. But don’t be fooled by the lighter texture – as well as being super hydrating and conditioning, it’s packed with skin-loving ingredients that not only protect against free radicals and pollution, but give a smooth, dewy finish.

Number 3 of best new beauty products
Byredo Lil Fleur, as part of Alex Steinherr's new beauty products of the week

Byredo Lil Fleur, £115

Cult perfume brand Byredo’s latest scent is a sheer, light floral with heart notes of crisp damask rose. This is a fragrance that whispers rather than shouts and though it’s easy to wear, it has a hidden complexity, with notes of warm white saffron, ambergris, cassis and tangerine adding depth and sophistication. Overall it feels very summery, youthful and fresh, making it perfect for spritzing now that the temperature is rising.

Number 4 of best new beauty products
Sisley Triple Oil Balm Make-Up Remover & Cleanser, as part of Alex Steinherr's new beauty products of the week

Sisley Triple Oil Balm Make-Up Remover & Cleanser, £88

This indulgent cleanser is all about the experience. With the texture of a buttery solid, it melts onto the skin and creates the perfect consistency for a good facial massage, which is essential for loosening make-up (which this product does brilliantly, even dislodging waterproof mascara) and daily pollutants from the skin. It also happens to smell divine, thanks to the peony-infused oils. Afterwards, skin is left thoroughly cleansed, soft and plump.

Marie Reynolds Defend Supplement, as part of Alex Steinherr's new beauty products of the week

Marie Reynolds Defend Supplements, £28

I’ve just started taking these immunity-boosting supplements to coincide with lockdown being eased. Each capsule is packed with a highly potent blend of herbal antivirals and antibacterials based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, designed to increase energy and speed up recovery, as well as high dose Vitamin C and probiotics for gut health. I really rate Marie Reynolds’ formulas; they are very effective and don’t have any fillers like artificial flavourings or preservatives.
