She was once the poster girl for glorious 90s hedonism, but now Kate Moss is pivoting in a new direction by launching her own wellness brand. Named Cosmoss, the holistic self-care line was inspired by the lush garden at her Cotswolds home – which has become a private sanctuary for Moss over recent years – and blends her love of beauty and skincare with a new-found appreciation of all things spiritual. Here’s everything you need to know about the launch.
If you want to know where you’re most likely to find Kate Moss these days, it’s in the idyllic garden of her Cotswolds home, among the peonies, poppies and roses. This has long been a special place for the supermodel, somewhere she goes to unwind and recharge her batteries, and has now become the inspiration behind her latest venture, the wellness and self-care brand Cosmoss. Launching today with a six-piece collection of products, the line has been over two years in the making and is deeply connected to her Gloucestershire farmhouse.
While Moss may not seem the most obvious choice for a line that focuses on health and wellbeing, over recent years she has gone to great lengths to readdress her early years as a young model, going tee-total and signing up for yoga and meditation sessions as well as detox retreats (she does, however, still smoke – some old habits die hard). These days she does Ashtanga flow three times a week and hosts regular sound and gong baths in her living room. Cosmoss was designed to tap into this more spiritual side, with the brand describing itself as “self-care created for life’s modern journeys to make them beautiful, mesmerising and magical.”
As for the collection itself, it’s been carefully crafted to promote wellness both inside and out. For skincare there’s a face cream that uses the ‘Moss extract’, a complex of three wild Icelandic plants that nourish and hydrate the skin; a foaming cleanser made with rosehip oil and bakuchiol, a plant-based alternative to retinol; and the Golden Nectar antioxidant oil, blended with CBD to calm irritated skin.

The Sacred Mist eau de parfum is made with a blend of essential oils to help with emotional balance, and there are also two mood-boosting herbal teas: Dawn, an energising blend of hisbiscus and ginger root, and Dusk, made with soothing chamomile and butterfly pea flower. “I used the incredible colours of the sky as reference for the tones of my teas,” says Moss. All of the products are vegan, sustainably sourced and environmentally conscious, and come in elegant green and gold packaging adorned with delicate celestial signs.
There’s a clear emphasis on spirituality and ritual in the range, both elements that have become hugely important to Moss over recent years, particularly through her work with the celebrated homeopath and ‘spiritual guide’ Victoria Young, who she was introduced to by the make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury and Moss’s long-time boyfriend, Nikolai von Bismarck. Based in South Kensington and known for her work treating the chronically stressed through a combination of herbs, meditation and homeopathy, Young now consults on Cosmoss and was particularly instrumental in developing the unique blend for the Moss extract. Other influences include the practitioners at the renowned Akra Barut resort in Antalya, where Moss has been going for detox retreats for the last 10 years and who she credits with teaching her how to incorporate mindfulness into all facets of her life.
“Cosmoss draws on my life experiences, my journey and my transformation,” says Moss. “Each product has been meticulously crafted with wellbeing in mind and designed to unlock new rituals leading you to find inner balance and love. Using only the purest, most potent ingredients, every infusion draws on nature to centre and complete you. A story of reconnection from soul to surface. There is a magic to Cosmoss and I can’t wait for you all to uncover it, just as I did.”
As for what’s next for the brand, Moss has hinted that she’d quite like to open her own spa one day and suggested that her modelling days may be numbered, especially since starting her own talent agency. She also proudly admitted that she’s funding Cosmoss by herself. “Nick Drake’s song Pink Moon has been my musical inspiration during the creation of Cosmoss,” says Moss. “I knew from day one it was the track I wanted to use for the brand. I love the mystery of it.” One thing’s for certain: whatever Moss sets her mind to next, we have no doubt it will be just as magical.
