The definitive guide to the best barbers in London
London offers beauty pop-ups of perfection this winter. A clutch of temporary arrivals across the capital – from big-name brands to cult labels – mean visitors can fully immerse themselves in their beauty favourites, with conceptualised videos, first-of-their-kind interactive displays and theatrical presentation all adding to the 360-experience. Here’s our edit of the best beauty pop-ups of the season – but hurry, they won’t be here forever.
Glossier. Realms of you.
Until 14 January 2024
The Glossier juggernaut continues. This time with a beauty pop-up on Regent Street that invites customers into a deconstructed world of their signature fragrance – Glossier you. It’s the second ever fragrance-focused pop-up for the brand – and is anything but run-of-the-mill. Instead, the in-house creative team has gone all-out, designing an immersive experience that looks at the scent through the lens of all five senses.
Behind the dramatically red-lit window display, guests are ushered into the first ‘layer’ – a room dominated by a screen playing an ASMR-inspired video that explores the ways sound and visuals affect us physically. In the next room – inspired by Alice in Wonderland and David Lynch, all moody lighting and individual booths – guests meet the different personas of the scent, from playful to romantic. Once the performance is over, they can buy any of the products in the fragrance family, before making their way down a distorted, red hallway into a final space where their orders are delivered.

Pleasing x Selfridges
Until 9 December
Harry Styles fans, stand by. The Watermelon Sugar High singer’s beauty brand Pleasing has landed at Selfridges’ The Corner Shop to mark the launch of its first-ever fragrance collection. Though the brand had a pop-up just off Carnaby Street last year, 2023’s iteration is the first-ever global retail partnership for Pleasing, inviting customers to browse the collection in a theatre-inspired setting.
The brand’s trio of new scents – ‘Closeness’, ‘Bright, Hot’ and ‘Rivulets’ – has been developed with perfumer Jerôme Épinette in collaboration with the French fragrance house Robertet to “embody simplicity, innovation, creativity, and beauty”. The scents take centre stage at the beauty pop-up; visitors can experience them at a vintage-style beauty counter and a trio of ticket booths, where you will be able to collect a free ‘ticket’ spritzed with the correlating fragrance. There’ll also be ‘special performers’, confectionary treats and the chance to shop the entire Pleasing collection.

Jo Malone London at Battersea Power Station
Until 7 January 2024
For the second year running Jo Malone London leads the yuletide festivities at Battersea Power Station with the beauty and lifestyle brand sponsoring Glide, the seasonal ice-skating experience. Visitors can take a spin around the glittering ice rink, at the centre of which towers a 30ft Christmas tree, its boughs decorated with twinkling fairylights and the brand’s signature cream-and-black boxes.
Off the ice, a giant gingerbread house is home to a Jo Malone beauty pop-up which features first-of-their-kind interactive displays. Described as a “whimsical immersive experience inside the ‘icing-frosted’ walls”, visitors are invited to take part in a fragrance masterclass or simply explore the brand’s latest gingerbread-inspired Christmas collection. Afterwards, celebrate your purchases with a cocktail or two.
