With 1 in 5 people in the UK not getting enough shuteye, the best sleep programmes in London’s hotels now offer an impressive choice of treatments and amenities to aid and improve slumber. Whether it’s the kids keeping you awake at night, you have just had a baby or you’ve got a lot on your mind, when sleep is evasive, it can leave us stressed, irritable and feeling low. So, with World Sleep Day on 17 March, we’ve curated the best hotels in the capital to escape to for a night of uninterrupted zzzs.
The Best Sleep Programmes in London
Rosewood London, the oh-so-elegant hotel tucked off High Holborn, offers one of the best sleep programmes in London – Alchemy of Sleep. The hotel brand has partnered with plant-powered skincare brand Votary to encourage guests to improve their shuteye through a series of sleep-inducing treatments, activities and special amenities.
The programme lasts two nights (staying in a gorgeous suite, of course), during which time you will be treated to a two-hour intensive Votary Antidote Sleep Treatment – a combination of shiatsu, passive stretching, acupressure, chakra-balancing and reflexology. A 60-minute CBD facial or massage, plus two 60-minute ‘awe’ sessions (choose from Pranayama breathing, Restorative yoga, or Meditation) add to the zen. Guests will also receive a curated Sleep Box containing a Sleeping Beauty wash bag, pillow spray, bath and body oil and a Super Sleep supplement.

This is a brand-new offering from The City of London-based Pan Pacific, bookable from 17 March. The programme is exclusively available in the hotel’s suites and starts with the bed. Alongside 300-thread count cotton linen bedding, a Mela weighted blanket and pillow menu, guests can try out the Ooler Sleep System by Chilisleep. The temperature-controlled mattress pad is essentially an air-conditioning unit for your bed, which you adjust via an App to find the optimum temperature for you, so you’re never too hot or too cold.
A bath butler (yes, you read that right) will be on hand to draw you a bath to your specifications and you can opt to add on a body or facial massage for the ultimate wind-down. Other complimentary sleep boosting services include in-room yoga, extensive reading materials (settling in with a book before bed reduces stress = better night’s sleep); while a selection of specially recommended snacks and hot drinks are available to order via room service including chamomile tea, anti-inflammatory golden milk and lavender milk, as well as healthy snacks, such as almond cookies and almond butter banana chia oatmeal.

For slumber with a side of five-star luxury, try the restorative two-night experience at Brown’s, surely one of the best sleep programmes in London. The Mayfair hotel has pulled out all the stops in their bid to ensure a night of “dreamy, undisturbed sleep”. After checking in, a welcome pack awaits in your room, which includes a silk sleepover kit from sleepwear brand Yolke, a lavender-infused sleep mask from Masters of Mayfair and Irene Forte Hibiscus Night Cream. A huge cloud-soft bed and minibar packed with nourishing treats come as standard.
Guests will also receive the hotel’s signature 90-minute Buona Notte Facial in the subterranean sanctuary-like spa. Herbal teas at turndown, as well as mindfulness cards with mantras to help reduce anxiety, are further designed to aid rest and relaxation. Next morning, celebrate your night of uninterrupted shuteye with a hearty breakfast, delivered to your room as part of the package.

This one-night experience at Four Seasons on Park Lane is aimed at time-sensitive Londoners and city-travellers to reset and refocus on their wellbeing. Guests who book will receive a £300 credit to use at the hotel’s spa, which they can put towards such treatments as the Cellulite and Detox massage, Deep Sleep Journey (a full body massage using locally-grown English lavender oil to relieve aching muscles and encourage a calmer state of mind), and the Oxygen Facial. The spa, by the way, is a standout; bathed in natural light, it has a suite of thermal facilities including a 32-degree cool vitality pool, eucalyptus steam room and Himalayan salt wall sauna.
Guests also receive an in-room supplement programme designed by the hotel’s wellness partner Organic Pharmacy. The ten-day easy-to-follow plan – to be started at the hotel and continued at home – includes botanicals to enhance soothing of the digestive tract, support liver function and metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids. In the evenings, you can utilise the special sleep kit provided, also created by Organic Pharmacy, plus there’s a nutritional in-room dining menu too.

The Langham promises guests that they’ll leave the hotel feeling better than when they arrived. As part of its wellness offering, the hotel offers a Sleep Matters by Chuan programme featuring soothing treatments curated by its spa. You can opt for the Sleep Matters services or the package – or both. The former includes having a bespoke bath run for you in your room, with the spa concierge creating a personalised soak using essential oils and aromatherapy based around traditional Chinese medicine. Auricular therapy is also on offer – a specialised process where the auricle (aka the ear) is used to stimulate meridians in the body to nurture, heal and restore.
The Sleep Matters Refresh and Renew Package includes an overnight stay, with in-room extras such as a Mini Sleep Collections kit from the luxury CBD brand OTO, earplugs, pillow mist, sleep mask and a yoga mat. A 60-minute Chuan Harmony full body oil massage is also included. And to top it all off? There is an option for a late checkout (subject to availability) so you can enjoy that all-important lie-in.

Knightsbridge favourite The Cadogan has joined forces with esteemed Harley Street hypnotherapist and sleep expert Malminder Gill to provide those who are struggling to snooze with a complimentary service called The Sleep Concierge. Guests who opt for this will be able to listen to a sleep-inducing meditation via the hotel’s App, which has been recorded by Gill, who has over 15 years’ experience in sleep and managing anxious thoughts.
There is also a pillow menu, so you can choose to lay your head on something that’s just right for you, whether you want to sleep on your back or your side. There’s also the option of a weighted blanket, a specially developed bedtime tea and a scented pillow mist. If you’re looking for a really personalised experience, you can book a one-to-one in-room appointment with Gill.

Not all sleep programmes in London have to take place overnight to be effective. At Ham Yard, Kit Kemp’s colourful boutique hotel in Soho, the sleep package lasts a matter of hours in the soothing surrounds of the Soholistic Spa. During this time, therapists will do their utmost to encourage you into such a deep state of relaxation that all you’ll want to do is slumber afterwards.
First off, you’ll have the Repose Aromatherapy Facial, a 75-minute treatment that utilises anti-inflammatory ingredients to soothe, calm and nourish the complexion. Afterwards, a short reflex pressure point foot massage is designed to relieve tension. You’ll then have full use of the spa facilities – including steam room, gym and relaxation area – for up to two hours to make sure you unwind fully. A Silent Night Kit to take home (Sleep Well mist, relaxing night cream, soft eye mask…) will ensure that you’ll wake up feeling refreshed, rested and raring to go.
