London’s restaurant scene has once again been forced to close, but as ever, the hospitality scene is fighting on with inventive at home food delivery services. Lets show our support for our favourite London restaurants by ordering the chicest of take-outs and home meal kits. For the first time ever, you can experience the magic that is the food of Michelin-starred chef Hélène Darroze at The Connaught, à la Maison. As you would expect from such a prestigious address and such a chef, this at home service is a five course feast of gastronomy, with the option to add wine pairings recommended by the restaurant’s sommelier. The Hélène a la Maison menu, which features a selection of the chef’s signature dishes as well as a “showstopper dish” that changes on a weekly basis, includes delicacies such as foie gras, scallops from north-west Scotland and canele cake. This is an exquisite dinner that is ideal for a very special occasion.

Rose Gray’s much-loved riverside restaurant has a variety of options to recreate their signature dishes at home and we are thrilled about it. From its online shop, you can order single servings of dishes to heat up at home, as well as box sets of three course meals for groups of two and four, such as the Beef in Coppa set with a Tuscan bread, vegetable and borlotti soup, Longhorn beef fillet and walnut and Amaretto cake for dessert. If you’re more interested in trying your hand at cooking the River Cafe dishes, the online shop also offers cooking kits, sauces and top quality ingredients, as well as a selection of wines.

Create a selection of sumptuous French-classic dishes at home with the help of Marylebone restaurant Orrery’s new at home kits and home delivery. On the menu is sea bass ceviche with lime and elderflower, Lamb Wellington for two, and poached pear with almond cake, but there are also vegetarian options available. These kits come ready-prepped, with optional wine, but for an even easier treat opt for the home delivery and have dishes like braised lamb shoulder and wild mushroom risotto delivered to your door.

Soho’s favourite Italian is offering a monthly roster of divine at home meal kits. Bring a taste of Piedmont into your home with a selection of three-course feasts made with seasonal ingredients. Options range from single dishes of risottos or pastas, to more elaborate three course feasts of seafood, ravioli or braised meat, salads and a sweet dessert of tiramisu.

We might not be able to revel in the Art Deco splendour of Claridge’s at the moment, but we can order from their beyond-luxe new at home menu. Some of its most famous dishes including the chicken pie, fish pie and beef Wellington can be delivered right to your door from the Mayfair institution — if you live within an eight-mile radius. Or why not try its Instagram-famous showstopper, the lobster Wellington? Better still, you can add wines and even negronis to your order. All you need to do is cook or reheat your delivery and eat within 24 hours…

Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Hakkasan is keeping its kitchen open with a menu available for delivery to let you taste its award-winning food at home. Its extensive wine list and vintage champagnes can also be delivered to your doorstep or, for the ultimate date night, take advantage of its bespoke ‘Hosted by Hakkasan’ service, which includes a personalised chef consultation, printed menus, place card, incense and floral arrangements to enjoy in your own private setting.

Breakfast in bed is one of the most glorious things about staying in a hotel. And while we can’t enjoy the real thing, The Berkeley is bringing breakfast in bed (by bike) to Londoners in two different guises. The first of the morning baskets include pastries fresh from the Knightsbridge hotel’s own bakery, fresh fruit salads and energy-boosting juices. If you are more in the mood for brunch, add on bagels with Scottish smoked salmon and cream cheese and granola with Greek yoghurt. For special occasions, or just because, add a half bottle of Champagne — with orange juice to make mimosas. Tied up in brown paper with string, personalised tags and a copy of The Times, this could earn you some serious brownie points with the lucky recipient.

Winter feasting can often centre around roast lunches and traditional trimmings. So why not switch things up a little in the run up with a Michelin-starred Indian delivery from Gymkhana. Part of the Sethi family’s growing empire of top London restaurants, you can order its much-loved dishes from Tandoori Masala Lamb Chops, Butter Chicken Masala and Wild Muntjac Biryani if you live within an eight-mile radius of Mayfair.

Landlubbers, ahoy. Floating restaurant London Shell Co – which offers up finger-lickingly delicious seafood aboard both its impeccably-restored old barge The Grand Duchess and the charming azure-blue canal boat The Prince Regent – has launched its a home delivery kit of oysters, utilising high quality, fresh ingredients (the restaurant has fish and shellfish delivered daily straight from the coast), plus a bottle of the ever-popular The Grand Duchess English Sparkling Wine. Seashore to door, indeed.

Due to its sell-out success during the first lockdown, Dalston institution Angelina – a chic fusion restaurant serving Japanese and Italian cooking – has relaunched its takeaway 8 course tasting menu. The menu changes bi-weekly, but expect signature dishes such as the prawn tartare with orange and ginger dashi, monkfish karaage, and yuzu caprese with shiso, manadarin and mascarpone for dessert. Available for local delivery, you’ll need to pre order quickly as slots always prove popular.

This tiny homestyle Indian restaurant, tucked away in a backstreet in Spitalfields was awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand immediately following its opening back in 2015. It has since built up a loyal clientele, all of whom savour the vibrant menu – think a modern, inventive twist on traditional Bengali cuisine. Messrs Corbin and King, the duo behind some of London’s most iconic restaurants including The Wolseley have devised a masterful at home service which allows you to order signature dishes from across its empire. Ahead of unveiling an exciting new menu at the central London spot once its doors can reopen, Executive Chef Padam Raj Rai has created The Chirashi box, bringing the best of the a la carte menu’s seafood offering to your doorstep. In keeping with the restaurant’s commitment to paying homage to traditional Japanese dishes with the finest ingredients, the box is filled with the freshest fish dressed in truffle and caviar.
