As part of my new weekly column I will be choosing five different beauty products to share with you every week, ranging from my favourite new skincare saviours, ultimate make-up must-haves, hair care heroes and body boosters, through to the freshest scents of the season. I get to test every single new beauty product before it hits the stores, so I truly appreciate the life-changing power of a great one. Here are the new releases that I’m most excited about this week.
Sarah Chapman Skinesis Skin Insurance SPF 50, £59Â
I’ve been a long-time fan of skincare guru Sarah Chapman’s award-winning Skin Insurance SPF 30 – the tinted sunscreen is perfect for daily use, providing essential sun protection while evening out my complexion and camouflaging imperfections in one fell swoop. Now there‘s even more to love about this innovative, skincare-packed formula (think a blend of free radical-zapping antioxidants and a youth-preserving stem cell complex) with the addition of a new SPF50+, making it my must-have for long walks in the sunshine.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer, £39
I’ll admit I’m a massive hoarder when it comes to bronzers — it’s my desert island product. While they have the ability to work wonders, they can also easily go wrong – very wrong – and before you know it you’re in Oompa Loompa territory. Luckily, there’s no danger of that with Charlotte Tilbury’s new Airbrush Bronzer, which is available in four skin-flattering shades ranging from Fair to Deep. The finely milled pigments give this formula a blendable, pore-blurring and streak-free matte finish (if you hate shine, this is one for you) – just a few strokes will have you looking fresh and sun-kissed without any dreaded blotchiness.Â
Chantecaille Lip Tint Hydrating Balm, £30
The humble tinted lip balm may not seem as flashy and exciting as some other make-up offerings, but I’m willing to bet it’s one of the most used beauty products in any make-up bag. This latest launch from Chantecaille is my current go-to — the lightweight tinted lip balm keeps chapped lips at bay with nourishing rose oil and gives a gorgeous glossy pop of colour. Available in four pretty limited edition sheer colours – red, orange, prink and plum – each giving just the right level of sheen.Â
Dr. Barbara Sturm Clarifying Spot Treatment, £40
As someone not prone to blemishes, I’ve been surprised to find a few springing up out of nowhere recently. Or not quite out of nowhere, as it seems the underlying lockdown stress many of us are suffering from can trigger breakouts. To help tame angry bumps I’ve been reaching for Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Clarifying Spot Treatment. The combination of Tea Tree Oil, Zinc Oxide, and Niacinamide help calm and clear spots effectively, while the clever tinted formula covers any unsightly redness. Five new shades have just been added to the original three, meaning it now works for any skin tone.Â
Augustinus Bader The Hand Treatment, £40
With the amount of extra hand washing and sanitising we’ve all been undertaking recently, it’s no surprise that our hands are in need of a little extra TLC. Boasting the same miraculous patented TFC8 complex as the cult face cream, which is made up of natural amino acids and high-grade vitamins, this hard-working hand cream offers the perfect remedy. Super hydrating and fast absorbing, it’s packed full of moisture-retaining ingredients like glycerine and shea butter, while vitamin E protects against environmental stressors and reduces the appearance of ageing.Â
