Suki Waterhouse has been a mainstay on the British fashion scene for over a decade, but it was her recent appearance as Karen in the hit show Daisy Jones & the Six that took her wardrobe to a whole new level. Wearing a series of covetable 70s-inspired looks, she stood out both on screen and on tour. Here, she shares her fashion secrets and her must-have pieces for this season.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is constantly evolving and changing. I like to be playful with my style and push myself to try new things. When I think about my style, there’s always been different variations. In my day-to-day life, I often go for easy and casual, but I definitely make more effort if I’m going on a trip and can get excited about going somewhere new, or going on tour.
Who are your favourite London designers?
Wales Bonner has become a recent favourite of mine – I just bought all their colourful socks and I’d love to own every single jumper! I attended the JW Anderson show recently at London Fashion Week – he’s someone who’s constantly pushing boundaries and creates very playful looks, which I love. I was so tempted to keep the pink fluffy top I wore to the show.
Where are your favourite stores in London to pick up great fashion finds?
Dover Street Market is such a fun place to shop. I love browsing around and seeing what’s new. My other favourite place to shop in London is LN-CC in Dalston, which stocks a brilliant edit of pieces by Acne, Rick Owens and Valentino. For shoes, it has to be Selfridges – the shoe section there is paradise.
What are your top fashion staples?
I think fashion staples should be versatile, so they work with any kind of outfit. I always have a great pair of sunglasses in my bag. You can’t go wrong with a white tee which will forever be the classic staple in someone’s wardrobe. I love a big shearling coat. And having a comfortable, but chic trainer, like Golden Goose, is a must.
What are the new season buys on your radar right now?
I’ve been seeing a lot of lace and a lot of neutral colours on the runway for 2024. And, I’m so happy that short shorts are back in style – I wore a pair of denim ones from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini on the press tour for Daisy Jones and the Six earlier in the year and it was my favourite outfit that week.

Where are your favourite places to pick up vintage pieces?
You can’t beat the vintage stores in Paris, but I’ve also found go-to places in New York, Los Angeles, and London. In LA, I’ve often stopped by Bustown Modern on Melrose Avenue, and in NY, Lara Koleji on the Lower East Side has great finds. In London, my favourite vintage store is called Lovers Lane. It’s on Portobello Road, which is the best spot to pick up vintage pieces, and the owner is beyond fabulous. All my favourite pieces I’ve been wearing recently are from there.
Who are your main style icons/influences?
I’ve been asked this question a lot over the years – and it changes from time to time. I’d say Cher remains a style icon, no matter the decade. She’s timeless and forever iconic, what more is there to say. Growing up it was always Diane Keaton, Marianne Faithfull, and Pattie Boyd as well – the way they’d step out at a party in the Sixties was just unbelievable, I loved all the vibrant colours and tiny little dresses.
What does style mean to you?
Style means self-expression. With fashion, you can make a statement without a single word. I feel super fortunate to have work be a place where I can play around with style. Getting the opportunity to express myself through my own collection with Golden Goose has been a dream and something I’ve never done before. Each piece was carefully designed and crafted, from the top with crystals to the Wish Star cowboy boots, and both have my personal style woven throughout.
