Summer Fashion Collaborations

Hunza G x Rose Inc

When Rosie Huntington-Whiteley posts a summer beach selfie, she’s likely to be sporting Hunza G. The supermodel – along with the likes of Rihanna, Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Bieber – is a huge fan of the London-based sustainable swimwear label, so much so that when she shared a photo of herself wearing the Domino Blush one-piece on Instagram in 2019, it broke the internet.

So, it’s little surprise that Rosie has teamed up with Hunza G on a limited-edition nine-piece collection, designed to “inspire your own iconic moments”. The capsule has been created in collaboration with Rose Inc, Rosie’s clean beauty brand, with the scoop neck and one-shoulder swimming costumes and adjustable bikinis available in neutral and coral tones inspired by blushes from the cosmetic line, and all in Hunza G’s signature seersucker fabric.

Versace x Dua Lipa

It would seem Dua Lipa can’t put a sartorial foot wrong and now the singer has joined forces with the inimitable Donatella Versace to design the Versace High Summer “La Vacanza”. The 40-look women’s collection features all the touches you’d expect from the pair – teeny skirts and towering heels, crystal-encrusted bags and chainmail bikinis – designed to take their wearer straight from the pool to dancing late into the night.

Elsewhere, striking black and white polka dot midi skirts, cut out dresses and shirts come adorned with butterflies, a motif which flutters across accessories too, including a chain necklace, bracelet and ring. And where did the pair debut the collection? At a lavish chateau on the Côte d’Azur, of course.

Ganni x Ester Manas

We got a hint of a fashion collaboration between sustainable and inclusive brand Ester Manas, founded by French designer Manas on body-positive principles, and Danish label Ganni last October. The preview came during Manas’s ‘Sunset Body’ show at Paris’s Palais de Tokyo when British model Alva Claire walked the runway in a cropped white Ganni-emblazoned tee-shirt with two hands clasped together in a heart shape.

Well, the size-inclusive summer collection has finally arrived – and it was well worth the wait. The capsule, inspired by the beach, consists of four swimwear pieces, four dresses and two tee-shirts in aquatic blues, burgundy, black and pink. While the dresses are ruched and close cut, the swimwear is playful, featuring Manas’s signature criss-cross neckline – with the entire collection available in sizes EU32 to 52 (UK 4 to 24).

Chloé x Eres

The French label Eres is the original swimwear brand. It was founded in 1968 by Irène Leroux, who opened the first store in Paris the same year selling swimsuits year-round. Indeed, hers was the first brand to sell separate bikini tops and bottoms. Now, the luxury swimwear brand has teamed up with another iconic French maison, Chloé for a new fashion collab.

Chloé’s Creative Director Gabriela Hearst and Eres Creative Director Marie-Paule Minchelli have together crafted a stunning collection of swimsuits and bikinis in Mediterranean-inspired tones. Made from natural Peau Douce – Eres’s patented second skin material – pieces feature Chloé’s signature winged silhouettes, broderie botanical motifs and hardware featuring the trademark ‘C’. Long shirts, wrap skirts, sandals, a beach bag and sunglasses complete the collection.

Casa Raki x Candice Lake

South American resortwear brand Casa Raki and the London-based photographer-designer-model Candice Lake have collaborated on a capsule for summer 2023. The 26-piece collection – which is stocked exclusively at MatchesFashion – is designed to be as versatile as it is wearable, with Casa Raki founder, Argentinian-born photographer Josefina Alazraki, indulging her leaning towards masculine tailoring and utilitarian chic.

Aside from one bikini and one swimming costume, the rest of the collection comprises co-ords – including shorts, skirts, trousers and halter-neck tops – as well as slip dresses and jumpsuits, in Cupro (a regenerated cellulose fabric), textured organic cotton and organic linen. The palette of lemon yellow, sky blue, cream and black brings a fresh, feminine twist to the collection.

Bea Bongiasca x Linda Farrow

The Buzziest New Summer Fashion Collaborations 2023Pin

The Milan-based jewellery designer Bea Bongiasca has joined forces with celebrity-favourite eyewear specialist Linda Farrow on a capsule collection of sunglasses. Bea – whose Baby Vine Rings were in every fashion editor’s jewellery box – brings her distinct pop culture-meets-contemporary art-meets-candy coloured aesthetic to three classic Linda Farrow silhouettes (cat-eye, rectangular- and round-frame).

And so you have metallic or vibrant green, pink and blue vines wrapped around the sides of shades, which also come in a choice of colourways. Designed by Bea and Simon Jablon, who is Linda’s son and Creative Director of the brand, to complement the face while also standing out from the crowd, these are set to be the sunglasses of the summer.

Adidas x Wales Bonner 2

The second fashion collaboration between Grace Wales Bonner and Adidas has landed – and it’s sure to sell out fast. The British designer behind the eponymous label has once again reimagined the athletic brand’s designs, this time exploring the trefoil’s presence and influence within Jamaican culture.

The collection – which is called ‘Land of Wood and Water’ – takes vintage silhouettes and combines them with classic Caribbean colours and contemporary touches across athleisure pieces, from retro jacquard sweater vests to recycled jersey track pants. But it’s the trainers which steal the show with the SL72 and Samba now in bold new colourways, including silver.
