The 54-year-old superstar is currently gearing up to the launch of her first studio album in a decade, entitled This Is Me… Now, on Friday 16 February, which will coincide with the release of a genre-bending musical film of the same name on Amazon Prime. Fashion editors have noted that she’s been pulling out look after look on the promo tour, from on-trend Magda Butrym pieces to Valentino couture masterpieces and high jewellery by FOPE.
The new album and film are heavily inspired by Jennifer Lopez’s rekindled romance and marriage to Ben Affleck, with themes of love and self-healing throughout. Last month, Lopez released her new single, Can’t Get Enough, which was accompanied by a video that sees her marching through the streets decked out in fine jewels, turning heads wherever she goes. While Jennifer Lopez may be spotted in a series of attention-grabbing looks in her new music video for Can’t Get Enough – the lead single from her upcoming album This Is Me… Now – it’s the jewellery she wears that really makes a statement. The brand is known for its take on understated luxury and signature Italian glamour. Famous for their flexible jewellery pieces made from an innovative gold mesh, the Panorama earrings and Solo bracelets Lopez wears were made for everyday elegance. But the standout piece in the video has to be the showstopping ‘Eka Mia Luca’ diamond pavé necklace. Magda Butrym
This Warsaw-based label, founded by designer Magdalena Butrym, is a firm favourite among the fashion elite, including Jennifer Lopez. Butrym is known for her rebellious take on ladylike silhouettes and for working with local artisans and makers in her native Poland, and Lopez is a big fan of her body-con dresses and sharp tailoring. Hardly surprising, then, that this was the label she turned to for the show-stopping look on her new album cover, which sees Lopez wear the brand’s cut-away black 3D rose gown.
Lopez was also recently spotted wearing a figure-hugging ruched midi dress from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, as well as a high-necked floral appliqué gown in a head-turning shade of scarlet. Meanwhile, for an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show, she chose a convertible silk-organza blazer with matching silk trousers.
David Koma
London-based designer David Koma has long been a favourite of the world-famous singer, with Lopez turning to his precisely-tailored, cut-away designs for some of her most important red-carpet appearances over the years. The label has played a big part in Lopez’s powerful new look, with the superstar stepping out in two show-stopping David Koma outfits over recent weeks.
During an appearance on Saturday Night Live last week, Lopez appeared in Koma’s crystal-embellished Cady midi dress, which features intricate crystal embellishments arranged to create a dangling rose above its plunging neckline. She teamed these with a pair of Christian Louboutin crystal-embellished boots.
Meanwhile, in November, Lopez stole the show in a risqué David Koma gown at an event in Las Vegas. The black cut-out dress showed off her toned physique, with a sheer panel from her shoulder to her waist and silver rhinestone detailing across the chest, neck and hem.
Valentino
During the shows at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in January, Lopez drew admiring looks on the front row at Valentino in a sleek black gown from the maison’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection. Featuring a row of cut-outs on the sleeves lined with sparkly crystal embellishments, it tapped into this season’s girlish bows trend, with each shoulder topped by a silver bow. They also happened to match similar silver bows on her black velvet Mach & Mach handbag.
As part of her Saturday Night Live appearance a few days later, Lopez was also spotted stepping out in a full look from Valentino’s Spring/Summer Couture 2024 collection, featuring a bright yellow fishtail skirt, a silk high-necked top and an oversized grey jacket.
