E.L.V. Denim x The Outnet

Brilliant Sustainable Fashion Launches To Know For Ss24Pin

East London sustainable fashion brand E.L.V. Denim has collaborated with The Outnet on a new upcycled capsule collection, which marks the first of its kind for the luxury online fashion outlet. The exclusive 50-piece collection has been created from The Outnet’s leftover deadstock, resulting in a series of pieces that were crafted and hand-cut by a local community of tailors, machinists and artisans in London. Hero pieces include a leather fringed gladiator skirt, reimagined from its original form of leather leggings; a cashmere twinset, transformed from a chunky roll-neck sweater; and a white denim dress formed from six pairs of jeans. Even the collection’s swing tags are eco-friendly, using traditional techniques to turn excess material into hand-crafted paper.

Miu Miu Upcycled Denim Collection

Brilliant Sustainable Fashion Launches To Know For Ss24Pin

Italian fashion house Miu Miu launched their first Upcycled collection in 2020 in a bid to encourage circular design practices. For their fourth limited edition release, they’ve branched into the world of denim, with a focus on upcycled jeans. Dated pre-2000 and sourced from denim specialists all over the world, the denim used in the collection has been chosen specifically for its colour, weight and the qualities of fading. Wide-legged jeans, trucker jackets, bra tops and shorts have all been reimagined, adorned with crystals and delicate beaded appliqué. For the first time, the sustainable fashion project also includes bags, with the Miu Miu Upcycled Patch bag collection made out of leather remnants from previous designs.

Sojo at Selfridges

Brilliant Sustainable Fashion Launches To Know For Ss24Pin

Following on from a successful pop-up at the iconic department store last summer, the London-based clothing repair and tailoring platform Sojo has just launched its first permanent concession in Selfridges. The B-Corp-certified business now offers repairs and alterations from its space on the third floor, with appointments and walk-ins available for everything from taking up hems to waist cinching and upsizing. They’ll also be on hand to breathe new life into old, much-loved pieces, offering services including zip replacement, denim patching and repairing holes in knitwear. The launch is part of a new Reselfridges sustainable fashion destination, which aims to make repair, resale and rental a core element of Selfridges’ 2030 target, by which time they hope to have 45 per cent of transactions coming from circular products or services.
